Welcome back to term 6!

Our big question this term is: Is it better to adapt or stay the same?

Our Year 1 question is: Do dinosaurs still exist?

English

In English this term we will be writing a non-chronological report about dinosaurs. Children will be learning about the features of a non-chronological report and using the information learnt from their trip to Betteshanger to help write their report.

Maths

This term in Maths, we are learning about place value within 100. We will start the term by counting and recognising numbers 50-100 and partitioning these numbers into tens and ones. Now children are working with larger numbers, they will practice identifying one more and one less and comparing two numbers. As the term progresses, children will learn to recognise and notes before moving on to learning about time.

Curriculum

In Science this term, we will be focusing on plants. Children will understand parts of a plant and where to find them. 

In PSHE, we will be focusing on transition this term and discussing moving into Year 2.

In History, we are learning about Mary Anning and understanding her life and why she is a significant historical figure. 

In Computing, children will be making an animated story book.

During RE week, we will be answering the question 'What does it mean to belong to a faith community?'.
