Curriculum Enrichment

Since 2021 Bromstone has been an Associate School working closely with the Royal Shakespeare Company.  During the first year the children took part in the production of "Much Ado about Nothing" performed at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury.  This year the children will be performing "As you like it" as an outdoor performance in Faversham.

Bromstone celebrates Black History Month every October with a week of activities focusing on Black History and celebrating multi cultural influences.

Our learning included a whole school project around the inspirational life of Wangari Maathai. She was an environmental campaigner who planted a million trees in Kenya. We had lots of fun throughout the term, learning about Kenya and how life in Africa is very different from our own.

KS2 children explored the history of slavery and the impact it had on black Britain. They also learnt about Civil Rights and new movements like Black Lives Matter.

Throughout the topic the children were encouraged to celebrate diversity and embrace the fact that each of us are special and that we all deserve to be treated with equality and respect.

In May 2022 Bromstone celebrated the Queens' Platinum Jubilee with a week of royal learning.  This culminated in a summer picnic with live music.
